Karen Jones

Karen founded Citywealth after a career at News International, The Times, and Sunday Times in the legal, financial and recruitment sections. She also ran the Legalease flagship title Legal Business/Asia Pacific Legal 500, and launched Legal Business Awards and Legal 500 parties. Karen then took over In Brief magazine, where she grew the organisation from a buyout where it had gone bankrupt to a successful £500,000-a-year publishing and events business. Her work as a Citywealth CEO was recognised by four New York Stevie Awards: Women helping women (2014, 2015), Innovator of the year (2015), and Entrepreneur of the year (2015).

Babor Hussain

Barclays Private Bank

Babor started his career in Investment Banking prior to moving to Barclays in 2006. Babor is the founder of the Strategic Partners team in UK Private Bank, formed to focus on the Private Equity ecosystem covering Private Equity, Venture Capitalists and High Growth Company founders, He also has extensive experience with UK Resident Non-Domiciled clients. Babor is an exceptional leader and is a key driver in delivering Private Bank’s largest revenues – managing the personal affairs of some of the Bank’s most strategic corporate clients on a personal basis and in collaboration with his colleagues across the Corporate and Investment Bank.

Strategic Partners AUM stands at £2.5bn and produces revenue of £15m+ per annum. Babor has a wealth of experience across global markets in origination and structuring, investment and private banking, specializing in Equity Capital markets and cross border tax planning.

Paula Steele

Paula has significant experience in the Financial Services industry having led John Lamb, the UK’s leading adviser to Landed Estates and their families, for over 40 years then most recently overseeing the company’s merger with Hill Oldridge where she is now Broking Director.

Paula has extensive knowledge and expertise across all areas of financial planning. Specialising in resolving particularly complex and challenging issues for individuals and families, Paula and has specific expertise in life assurance, equity release and later life planning.

Paula’s professional accreditations include Chartered Financial Planner, IMC and being an affiliate of STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners). She has also played an important role in improving standards throughout the financial advice industry and has been the recipient of many awards, most recently receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards 2022.

Edward Goodchild

Edward is an experienced and entrepreneurial adviser with a blue-chip background as an investment expert. He has 26 years of client facing investment experience as an institutional equity portfolio manager and analyst, as a private client adviser, and as an investment consultant to significant private capital. This breadth and depth of experience is invaluable to clients as they benefit from his perspective, knowledge and understanding. His clients include individuals, families, trusts and charities. Edward is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI (FCSI), a Chartered Wealth Manager, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM) and a Fellow of the RSA (FRSA).

Rhona Humphreys

Rhona joined Imperium in 2012,  bringing with her 25 years’ experience in the Guernsey fiduciary sector. Previously Rhona was Director of locally-based Ardel Trust Company, where she was responsible for the organisation’s trust and company management and administration team. This included work relating to property investment, employee benefit trusts, trading relationships, pension products, limited partnerships and New Zealand trusts, to name a few.

Rhona also has experience running managed trust services for third parties who want the benefits of being in Guernsey whilst not wishing to establish their own trust companies. Additionally, she played a large part in developing policies and procedures, enabling efficient and effective client service, whilst maintaining an appropriate level of control over a client’s affairs.

Rhona is a member of STEP, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, and currently the Chairman of the Guernsey Association of Trustees. In her spare time, Rhona enjoys playing badminton, reading, keeping fit and spending time with her family.

Jeremy Levison

Jeremy Levison is a founding partner of boutique family law firm Levison Meltzer Pigott (LMP) and has over 45 years’ experience in dealing with high-net-worth complex financial settlements.

A founder of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, Jeremy’s contacts with family lawyers worldwide assist in the successful resolution of a significant proportion of his cases that have an international dimension.

As well as being a lawyer, Jeremy is a passionate art collector and a supporter of artists unknown, emerging and emerged. He also has a love for, and a collection of, classic cars.

Jeremy frequently appears on television and radio discussing divorce issues. He was also the inspiration for Clive’s divorce lawyer in the irreverent “Alex” daily cartoon strip in The Telegraph. Jeremy is consistently ranked by both the annual legal research directories, Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners as well as the Spears 500. He has been the recipient of many accolades and honours including most recently receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards 2022.

Yogi Dewan

Yogi founded Hassium Asset Management in 2006. Hassium is an investment boutique that manages financial assets for some of the wealthiest families in Europe. Yogi is also involved in investment consulting and OCIO services for some very large single family offices. Prior to setting up Hassium Yogi spent ten years in the Private Wealth Management division at Goldman Sachs where he built and managed a pan-European business. Yogi comments regularly on the financial markets in the media, namely Bloomberg, CNBC and the Financial Times. Yogi has an MBA from the London Business School and an undergraduate degree from the University of Birmingham. Yogi is a father to four children. In Philanthropy Yogi is a Trustee for the Amy Winehouse Foundation and sits on the Advisory Board for the University of Birmingham Business School.

Kate Johnson

Kate advises domestic and international clients on personal tax, trust, estate planning and succession issues. Her clients include individuals, trustees and charities often with multi-jurisdictional assets owned via complex offshore trust and corporate structures. Kate has particular experience advising on exiting family businesses, charity formation, onshore and offshore tax planning and trust structuring, and planning for moving to or returning to the UK. Kate frequently advises clients with charitable interests or valuable art collections.

Julia Cox

Julia is a personal tax and trust lawyer with considerable experience in a broad range of private client matters involving all aspects of estate and succession planning. She is experienced in cross-border Will work for clients. She has a range of trust and charity law experience, including acting in a number of matters involving the Charity Commission. Julia's clients include UK and international individuals, their families and trustees. Julia regularly acts for UK entrepreneurs, business owners and high net worth individuals, as well as non-UK domiciliaries. She has acted for many corporate and individual trustees, both UK and non-UK resident, as well as other private client service providers.

Julia has greatly enjoyed forming client relationships that have lasted from one decade to the next and across generations, with a focus on protecting family wealth in the long term.

Her recent work includes advising a family on the passing of assets to the next generation while ensuring that proper provision and control are retained for the current generation and trust reorganisations to put particular assets in the control of certain beneficiaries, all tax efficiently.

Julia is admitted to practise in England and Wales.

Nicola Brown

Nicola Brown has been with ZEDRA since its origination in January 2016, having previously worked with the Barclays Guernsey Trust business for a little over five years. During this time, Niki has swiftly risen through the ranks of the company and is head of the Incentives Team being responsible for the delivery of a range of administration and trustee services for large employee share ownership Schemes across multiple jurisdictions. Niki has an MSc in Corporate Governance accredited by the Chartered Governance Institute.

Her clients include those from FTSE 100, 250, AIM listed, partnerships and private companies with a variety of shareholding structures ranging from a small number of key executives, to 5,000 employees with extensive assets under management.

Niki thrives on leading a successful, motivated team who are absolutely focused on delivering the highest quality of client service and meeting their KPIs.

Prior to joining ZEDRA, Niki was an Academic Research Fellow at Kings College London, focusing on the molecular characterisation of leukaemia. Niki remains interested and passionate about improving the treatment and care of cancer sufferers and has been an active supporter of the charity Hope for Guernsey. Niki has not only committed time to raise money to fund a PhD Studentship she has been actively involved in reviewing research proposals and grant funding.

Away from work, Niki loves spending time with her friends and family including her two children of eleven and eight and where possible on the beautiful beaches of Guernsey!

Hema is a Partner and Head of the Private Real Estate team at BDBPitmans and also sits on the firm’s Executive Board helping to set the firm’s vision and strategy.

Hema has over 22 years of extensive experience in all aspects of high value residential property acting for on and off shore UHNW individuals, trusts and corporates.

Hema is also a specialist (and the recipient of several awards) in the niche areas of Enfranchisement advising on the 2002 Act, 1993 Act and 1967 Act, RTM and rights of refusal. Recently, Hema handled a complicated sale and refinance of 332 properties in London (the largest portfolio held by an individual).

Hema is recognised as a Leading Individual in the Legal 500 and was the residential expert for City AM newspaper for 3 years. Hema is often approached by the press for her insight on the latest residential market trends or ongoing (and often unwelcome!) changes in law.
